Kiosk app for hotels
An Android-based kiosk application designed for hotel guests, serving as an interactive information system for ordering room service and booking city guides.
The primary objective of this project was to develop a user-friendly and secure information system for hotel guests, enabling seamless room service ordering and city guide reservations. The delivered solution is an Android application designed to operate exclusively in kiosk mode, utilizing a proprietary system to restrict unauthorized access to device settings. The project features a hybrid architecture: the backend and user interface are built as a comprehensive web application using Python (FastAPI, Jinja templates) and a PostgreSQL database, which is deeply integrated into a native Kotlin Android shell. This architectural strategy was chosen to maximize post-launch flexibility. By embedding a web application rather than building purely native screens, the client was empowered to independently modify the design, content, and specific functionalities long after the development phase was completed, completely bypassing the standard, time-consuming process of rolling out native Android updates.
