Universal media converter "Transmutia"

Universal media converter "Transmutia"

Overview

Transmutia is a Python-based desktop application designed for batch converting media files, encompassing audio, video, and images. Featuring a multilingual GUI with customizable themes, the app relies on FFmpeg to process dozens of media formats.

Transmutia is a versatile desktop media converter developed in Python using the PySide6 graphical framework. The primary goal of the project was to build a user-friendly and modern interface for the batch transcoding of a vast array of audio, video, and image files by harnessing the processing power of FFmpeg. The application automatically categorizes input files by their extensions and allows users to individually select the target format for each item in the conversion queue. Key features of the product include full localization support, dynamic UI themes (light, dark, and system defaults). The project architecture includes flexible build configurations, allowing developers to compile the source code into a standalone binary or executable file using Nuitka (the recommended method) or PyInstaller. This ensures straightforward deployment across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
